The models of the HYFRA Sigma series are suitable for all applications that use cooling water as a medium. The chillers' compressors always operate at optimum efficiency and the plate heat exchangers are highly efficient. This leads to considerable savings in energy consumption. In conjunction with microchannel technology, the demand for refrigerant is also reduced by up to 70 percent.
In chillers with microchannel technology, the refrigerant flows through numerous microchannels. The many small channels increase the surface for heat exchange with the medium to be cooled. At the same time, less refrigerant flows because of the small diameter of the channels. The result is not only a permanent reduction in the amount of refrigerant required, but also a better ecological balance.
As a result of the low refrigerant requirement, there is no need for an annual leak test for coolers with a capacity of up to 30 kW. This noticeably reduces the costs for the maintenance of the chiller. During operation, a 2-point pressure transducer increases the safety of the system. It ensures a constant system pressure and gives an early warning of leaks.
Proven cooling for numerous industrial applications
How does a water chiller operate?
Cooling water recoolers bring water in the device to process temperature and make it available in a tank for further use. A pump delivers the cooling medium to the consumer. There the cooling water extracts its heat from the process and then transports it back to the chiller.
In which applications are water chillers suitable?
Cooling water is indispensable in many industrial processes. Cooling water recoolers are often used in laser processing. There, they are used for the temperature control of the optics, the laser source and other components. Other applications are the cooling of tools in plastic injection molding and power electronics.
Various controls with a wide range of functions
The coolers of the HYFRA Sigma series are delivered with either the FreeSmart or the FreeAdvanced control, depending on the capacity. Both controls are freely programmable and have several analog and digital connections. The combination of the FreeAdvanced control and a touch panel provides a structured overview and makes it easier to read the relevant values. In addition, this controller has a full text display as standard and is Modbus-TCP compatible.
