HYFRA Company History
When mechanical engineer Wolfgang Baum founded HYFRA in 1981, he was following his dream. He wanted to design cooling systems to meet his exacting standards: high precision, completely reliable and tailored to his customers’ requirements. It was a winning combination that has proven itself 40 years and is continuously evolving to reflect numerous innovations such as the company’s efficient, best-in-class microchannel technology.
After experiencing years of growth, in 1991 HYFRA moved from Neuwied, the location where it was founded, to its current headquarters in Krunkel. As HYFRA’s business was becoming increasingly international, the company became a stand-alone brand in the Refrigeration Division of Lennox International in 1997. Under the leadership of the American corporation, HYFRA gained a worldwide market presence.
Thanks to the inventive spirit of its engineers and its production employees’ attention to detail, HYFRA knows how to reliably satisfy its customers’ high quality standards. Their drive is the reason why the brand has a reputation for being a provider and developer of durable, sophisticated cooling components “Made in Germany.” Today, a wide range of sectors worldwide use machines cooled by HYFRA. And a family-operated manufacturing business with a handful of staff has become an innovative sector leader with over 210 employees.
