The demands on a lab chiller are high. Since the correct operation of many laboratory processes depends on temperature, precision and reliability are required for cooling. The right cooler must not only be able to finely adjust the temperature, but often also maintain it constantly. With the eChilly and Sigma models, HYFRA has two devices for precise cooling of laboratory applications in its range. Both operate according to the principle of cooling water recooling. Water absorbs the process heat at the point of origin and dissipates it. In this way, the two chillers temper a wide variety of devices in the laboratory - from autoclaves to reactor blocks to rotary evaporators.

With power ratings from 1 to 6 kW (3,500 Btu/hr to 20,500 Btu/hr), the HYFRA eChilly covers the cooling needs of numerous laboratory applications. With a footprint of 0.33 to 0.59 m² and an overall height of 37 to 52 cm (15 inches to 21 inches), it integrates well into various laboratory environments. Despite their small dimensions, the units are adaptable in a variety of ways. They are designed to be fail-safe, have a robust housing and, thanks to the ready-to-plug-in design, they are quickly ready for use.

The HYFRA Sigma serves stronger cooling requirements. In the compact version HYFRA Sigma c, it offers power ratings from 5 to 16 kW (1.5 tons to 4.5 tons) in an installation area of 0.5 m². If even more power is required, the standard model of the HYFRA Sigma is suitable, which cools with up to 320 kW (90 tons).

Laboratory cooling from manufacturer

Chillers from HYFRA convince not only with their reliability, but also with their innovative functions. For example, units with FleXX technology or with the special microchannel evaporator operate significantly more efficiently. Chillers with FleXX equipment control individual components depending on the respective cooling demand and thus achieve energy savings of up to 30%. The Microchannel evaporator additionally saves up to 70% refrigerant.

In line with the chillers, HYFRA also offers a wide range of services related to the devices. Whether consulting or individual configuration, assembly, maintenance or spare parts supply - in many areas, customers benefit from direct contact with the manufacturer. For example, experienced engineers also design laboratory chillers that are suitable for special requirements at the customer's request. HYFRA provides all services from a single source up to the acceptance of the cooler at the place of use, thus ensuring that the unit is quickly ready for operation. Should the cooling requirements change fundamentally at a later date, HYFRA adapts the solution to the new tasks with modification kits.

Regular maintenance of the chillers is carried out as part of various service packages. With the associated measures, the service life of the cooler can be increased and unexpected production downtimes can be avoided. However, should a malfunction occur, HYFRA's worldwide service team will quickly restore the system to operational readiness.

What temperature accuracy do HYFRA chillers guarantee for laboratory cooling?

HYFRA laboratory chillers reliably generate and maintain the required temperature for the respective cooling application. As standard, the devices achieve a temperature accuracy of +/- 1.0 K. However, depending on the model and equipment, higher accuracies of +/- 0.5 K or +/- 0.1 K can also be realized.
