Industrial cooling specialist HYFRA will be at EMO this year (September 16-21 in Hanover). At the world’s leading trade show for metal machining, HYFRA will present a new table unit for applications in the mechanical engineering, laser technology, additive manufacturing, and modern laboratory technology sectors. The compact chiller uses R32, a partially fluorinated refrigerant featuring a low GWP value and high volumetric cooling capacity. The table unit is HYFRA’s response to the specifications in the Fluorinated Gas Regulation, which makes alternative refrigerants and future-proof solutions necessary in process cooling. On a small installation area of 0.25 m2, the compact chiller covers an infinitely adjustable output range between 0.5 and 5 kW, making it ideal for flexible use. The chilling system requires a refrigerant quantity of only 0.65 kg and supports cold-water temperatures between -15 ˚C and +30 ˚C. And the table unit already fulfills the minimum requirements for energy efficiency for 2021 as defined in the Ecodesign Directive (EU Regulation 2016/2281).
HYFRA’s innovative microchannel technology is another focus of its presentation at EMO. The optimized microchannel evaporator will be demonstrated using the HYFRA Gamma immersion chiller as an example. It permits a reduction in the amount of refrigerant required in the evaporator by up to 60%, delivering higher cooling capacity and an excellent ecological balance at the same time. Thanks to the evaporator’s innovative design, the risk of leakage is reduced and the corrosion-proof coating ensures trouble-free operation. Based on a graphical presentation of the HYFRA Alpha circulating chiller, EMO visitors will also find out how easy it is to maintain the microchannel evaporator. The patented 4-way valve supports a backwash function for quick cleaning – without disassembling the evaporator. This avoids long periods of chiller downtime.
